Course Overview
Designed specifically for periodontists, this advanced two-day course explores how Fotona laser technology can enhance clinical workflows, improve efficiency, and support better treatment outcomes and patient experiences. General dentists interested in expanding their knowledge of advanced laser-assisted periodontal, peri-implant, and implant procedures are also welcome to attend.
Dr. Dalessandro will review treatment protocols, clinical techniques, and case selection for managing periodontitis and peri-implantitis, performing open and closed crown lengthening, treating extraction sockets, preparing implant osteotomies, and mastering soft-tissue procedures.
Participants will learn how to incorporate Fotona's dual-wavelength capabilities into advanced surgical and non-surgical workflows — with an emphasis on saving clinical time, improving procedural efficiency, preserving tissue, and promoting comfortable healing.

Alan Dalessandro
Dr. Alan Dalessandro is a board-trained periodontist with more than four decades of private practice experience and a long-standing reputation as an educator in advanced laser surgery, periodontics, and implantology.
He earned his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University before graduating with honors from Loyola University School of Dentistry. He completed his specialty training in periodontics, dental implants, and intravenous sedation at the University of Illinois Dental School in 1982, followed by a residency in anesthesia and medicine at Rush University Medical Center — training that allows him to offer patients IV sedation as part of comprehensive care.
Dr. Dalessandro has been in private practice since 1979, building deep roots in the Chicagoland community from his Hoffman Estates location. A committed lifelong learner, he dedicates 20 to 30 days annually to continuing education in dentistry, medicine, anesthesia, and practice management.
For more than 20 years, he has lectured nationally and internationally on advanced periodontal procedures, laser surgical techniques, CT imaging, and practice leadership — bringing the same clinical precision to the podium that he brings to the operatory.
