SWEEPS Technology

Revolutionary Root Canal Irrigation for Superior Outcomes

SWEEPS (Shock Wave Enhanced Emission Photoacoustic Streaming) uses precisely timed Er:YAG laser pulses to generate powerful photoacoustic shockwaves. These waves travel through the irrigant, reaching complex root canal anatomy that conventional methods simply cannot access.

99% Bacteria Elimination in Lateral Canals
3D Complete Canal Cleaning Coverage
50% Reduced Treatment Time

AutoSWEEPS Mode

Automated laser-activated irrigation with optimized parameters

R-SWEEPS Protocol

Repetitive shockwaves for enhanced debris removal

SSP and USP Endo Modes

Super short and ultra short pulse options for precise control

Regeneration

The Biological Edge for Regeneration

Maximizing Stem Cell Viability and Attachment

A study led by Razavi et al. explored the impact of SWEEPS® technology on the survival and attachment of human dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs). SEM observations revealed that SWEEPS® achieves a smear layer-free surface, allowing stem cells to firmly attach via elongated cytoplasmic extensions — promoting an environment conducive to tissue regeneration.

Conclusion SWEEPS® provides a significantly superior biological surface for stem cell survival and attachment compared to conventional methods, making it a critical tool for successful regenerative endodontics.

Anatomy

Mastering Complex Anatomy

Deep Penetration into Lateral Canals and Isthmuses

Using microscale particle image velocimetry (µPIV), SWEEPS® was shown to activate a unique "breath mode" — creating a high-speed reciprocating piston effect driving irrigants into lateral canals at up to 10 m/s. Research by Su et al. found SWEEPS® delivers irrigants more than 3× deeper into lateral canals than traditional ultrasonic irrigation (UAI), and removes debris from isthmuses significantly better than conventional needles.

Conclusion SWEEPS® reaches and cleans anatomically complex spaces — lateral canals and isthmuses — that are otherwise unreachable by mechanical files or standard needles.

Disinfection

Unmatched Disinfection Power

Eradicating Tough Biofilms and Persistent Bacteria

Research by Xiao-Na Wang compared SWEEPS® against single-pulse PIPS™ and non-activated sodium hypochlorite targeting Enterococcus faecalis — a resistant bacterium often responsible for treatment failure. SWEEPS® achieved an 88.6% bacterial reduction vs. 58.5% for PIPS™ and 34.4% for traditional irrigation. The synchronized dual-pulse technology pumps disinfectants into microscopic tubules to disrupt mature biofilms.

Conclusion SWEEPS® is more effective than traditional laser or needle methods at eradicating persistent bacteria, improving outcomes and preventing re-treatments.
